The omoplata is perhaps one of the most adaptable submissions in the art of Jiu-Jitsu. It doesn’t take a great deal of flexibility to apply and is a great attack for all body types. In the following video technique demonstration you will see a basic set up for the omoplata submission as well as a variation commonly used when your opponent attempts to fight the downwards pressure. Enjoy!

It was an honor and a incredible learning experience having the opportunity to train with Master Ricardo De La Riva on Saturday during a small group class held at 127bjj in Manayunk, PA. Master De La Riva gave us an amazing amount of detail about the techniques he uses and he spent a lot of time answering the group’s questions.
Thanks to Master De La Riva and Vicinte Junior for making the trip out to Philadelphia.
It was a blue belt promotion bonanza at Harrisburg BJJ on Saturday, during the Rosendo Diaz workshop. Congratulations go out to the following individuals that have worked hard to earn their blue belts.
