Huge congratulations to Royler Gracie for stepping into the ring one last time against a very skilled and seasoned Masakatsu Ueda at the Amazon Forest Combat event held this past weekend.
Royler stepped into the ring against an opponent who has only seen defeat once in his career and has won his last 3 MMA matches against top players such as Rumina Sato and Eduardo Dantas.
Royler is a true warrior and champion of the Gracie Family. We at the Rosendo Diaz Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy and Team 3rd Generation wish Master Gracie all the best and look forward to his continued teachings.

It can be very difficult to secure a knee bar on your opponent when his base is low in the guard. In this technique Rosendo utilizes his leg to pressure his opponent into a roll securing the knee bar. The omoplata is perhaps one of the most adaptable submissions in the art of Jiu-Jitsu. It doesn’t take a great deal of flexibility to apply and is a great attack for all body types. In the following video technique demonstration you will see a basic set up for the omoplata submission as well as a variation commonly used when your opponent attempts to fight the downwards pressure. Enjoy!

Congratulations to both, they are top competitors!
Thanks to Shane Mock of Berks County Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy for hosting a seminar with Rosendo Diaz this past weekend. At the end of the seminar Rosendo and Shane promoted some well deserving individuals.
Congrats to Shane Smith and Joe Kuhn for both putting the time in and earning their blue belts and to Ricky Pena, who earned his purple belt.

It was an honor and a incredible learning experience having the opportunity to train with Master Ricardo De La Riva on Saturday during a small group class held at 127bjj in Manayunk, PA. Master De La Riva gave us an amazing amount of detail about the techniques he uses and he spent a lot of time answering the group’s questions.
Thanks to Master De La Riva and Vicinte Junior for making the trip out to Philadelphia.
This is a great video I picked up over at my friend’s site, www.kingdavidhogan.com. Check it out, it features Dana White and Mike Tyson talking about the upcoming James Toney vs Randy Couture match as well as mixed martial arts. I’ll never forget watching his fight against Michael Spinks on HBO, you just knew that Tyson had won that match even before he walked to the ring.
Keith Neff, Lancaster BJJ, will be at Harrisburg BJJ Academy on Saturday, July 31, 2010. The seminar will run from 11:30am. For more information about this Team 3rd Generation event, please visit www.harrisburgbjj.com
