Please join us on Friday, September 16, 2011 for our very first White Belts Only class. This class will focus on the basics of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, developing a sound defensive game as well we’ll be teaching the class how to “flow roll”. This class is open to all members of the Rosendo Diaz Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy and 3rd Generation Jiu-Jitsu Team members. Class will start at 6:30pm and run until 8:30pm.

Congratulations go out to Heidi Allen, Dylan Royce and Jason Edward who went out and represented our academy at the US Grappling – Diamond State Games this past weekend.
Heidi went undefeated scoring 2 first place finishes in absolute gi and absolute no-gi.
Dylan earned himself 2 second place finishes against some top level competitors in his blue belt division and the absolute blue belt division.
Jason competed all day in several divisions, we are still trying to figure out how many medals he got. But he did awesome!

Starting May 23, 2011 our schedule will go through some changes: For starters our MMA class usually held on Mondays will move to Saturdays at 10:30am. The Monday class at 7pm will be a BJJ Gi class. Also take a look at our schedule in the next week as we will also be adding some additional classes for the summer.
Check out some highlights of one of our Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) classes. MMA Class runs on Mondays from 7pm to 8:30pm which is proceeded by our boxing class from 6pm to 7pm. Come and try out our classes, learn self defense while getting in a great workout.

Newly promoted 3rd Generation Jiu-Jitsu Team black belt, Fadi Khouri put on a great seminar this past weekend at the Rosendo Diaz Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Chalfont, PA.
Fadi covered instructed the group consisting of over 25 3G members his favorite ways to pass the guard and half guard, breaking the guard and a few of his sweeps from the guard that he has sucessfully used in competition. Fadi also shared his killer 6 minute warmup.

It was a great turnout at the 1st Lancaster BJJ Kids Jiu Jitsu Tournament on November 6, 2010. This event was a sucess due to the help and assistance of all our parents and adult students as well as the kids who gave it their all and had a ton of fun while competiting at the event.

The omoplata is perhaps one of the most adaptable submissions in the art of Jiu-Jitsu. It doesn’t take a great deal of flexibility to apply and is a great attack for all body types. In the following video technique demonstration you will see a basic set up for the omoplata submission as well as a variation commonly used when your opponent attempts to fight the downwards pressure. The Harrisburg Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy has been growing by leaps and bounds in the last months. With the expansion of their members and adding on of programs, comes the news that they will be moving to a much larger location.
This new location will still be located in the Allen Shopping Center at 941 Gettysburg Road, Camp Hill, PA. The location will more than double the mat space and allow for expansion of the programs currently ongoing at the academy.

Jason Fox of Total Jiu-Jitsu in Warsaw, Indiana has added a second location in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jason Fox began his training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) in 2001 under Royce Gracie, the son of Helio Gracie. He received his black belt in June 2008. Jason has been an active competitor in both gi and no-gi tournaments. In addition to his personal competition achievements, Jason has developed a strong and successful competition team.

It was a great weekend for RGDA-Ephrata this past weekend. RGDA-Ephrata had one of their students competing in a mma event at the Warrior Challenge on Friday and then on Saturday several of the students competed in a submission grappling event held by the same promotion.

We got a great bit of news on Fadi Khouri this weekend. Fadi competed at the American National Jiu-Jitsu Championships this weekend and swept his brown belt division having no points scored against him and submitting all his oponents.
The RDBJJ Acacdemy would like to congratulate Fadi on this amazing accomplishment. Fadi has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for sometime and has been on the competition scene for the past couple years. He has been really making a splash and we wish him all the best and continued success.
