Instructors

Rosendo Diaz received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in August of 2003, after having trained with David Adiv and Royler Gracie for over 10 years. In August of 2006, he received his 1st degree from Royler Gracie. Rosendo has an extensive training background in the Martial Arts with over 25 years experience. He was the defensive tactics instructor for the Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Dept. during the late 90’s. He also travels throughout the country and abroad teaching the 3rd Generation Jiu-Jitsu Team curriculum.
Jeff Richmond is a former professional boxer who trained in the Bethlehem/Allentown area and fought for 7th Street Gym. In addition to his years in the ring, Jeff brings experience as a boxing trainer and can customize programs for competion fighters or for fitness enthusiasts. As a member of the RDBJJ Academy, Jeff has acted as our MMA team’s boxing coach for the past two years.

Rick Royce began training brazilian jiu jitsu in 2002 under the tutalege of Rosendo Diaz and “Little” Tony Pacenski. In 2009, Rick received his brown belt from Royler Gracie and Rosendo Diaz. Rick is a very technical practioner that is always looking for ways to innovate his jiu jitsu game.
Rick is a 2004 and 2005 RGDA champion, and placed 2nd at the 2006 Pennsylvania No GI Jiu Jitsu Championships. Recently he won the 2010 Ultimate Grappling Championship advanced no-gi and has fought and won in MMA and boxing matches.

Sheri Hockman, wife and mother of three children, is a purple belt having trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2003. She has medaled at multiple NAGA and Grapplers Quest competition events and medaled in competitive Karate tournament earning her a brown belt in Shotokan Karate. Sheri’s experience as a personal trainer and a strength and conditioning coach help to provide our students with a balanced program of fitness to enhance their training.

Mike Omensetter began his training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2006 under the instruction of Rosendo Diaz, and received his blue belt in 2007. Mike has been studying the martial arts since the age of 12. He holds a 3rd degree black belt in Taekwondo, a 1st degree black belt in Kenpo, as well as, a black belt in Modern Arnis. Mike spent many years actively competing in and coaching Taekwondo, both locally and nationally, in USTA (formally the USTU) and AAU competitions. Mike has also competed in and coached sport karate, both locally and nationally, in NASKA and NBL tournaments. He recently won the 2010 Ultimate Grappling Championship heavyweight advanced no-gi division. Mike’s interest in teaching also extends into his professional career. He is a Pennsylvania certified teacher, who is currently teaching special education.
